Partnership Deed Drafting in Ranchi
Put your understanding with your partners in writing. We draft a clear, customised partnership deed and guide you through stamp paper, signing and registration.
The rulebook for your firm
A partnership deed is the written agreement between partners. It sets out how much each partner invests, how profits and losses are shared, who does what, and what happens if a partner leaves or the firm closes.
Many partnership disputes start because terms were never written down or were unclear. A well-drafted deed reduces that risk and is also the main document for registering your firm with the Registrar of Firms.
Who should get a deed drafted
- Partners starting a new business together
- Existing firms that work on a verbal understanding
- Firms that want to register with the Registrar of Firms
- Partners who want to revise terms, such as profit ratio or roles
- Family businesses organising ownership and responsibilities

Common questions
Is a written partnership deed mandatory?
The law does not insist on a written deed, but it is strongly advised. Without one, disputes are hard to resolve and a firm cannot be registered.
What if we have no deed?
The default provisions of the Indian Partnership Act apply, which may not match your intentions, for example on profit sharing or remuneration.
Does the deed need stamp paper?
Yes. It must be executed on stamp paper of the value required in your state, which can depend on the capital. We confirm the amount for your case.
Can the deed be changed later?
Yes. With the consent of all partners, terms can be changed through a supplementary or amended deed.
Can you draft it in a specific language or format?
Tell us what you need and we will advise on what is acceptable for execution and registration.
This page is general guidance as we understand the Indian Partnership Act, 1932, the LLP Act, 2008 and MCA procedures. Stamp duty, Registrar fees, forms and due dates change and vary by state, so we confirm the latest requirements for your case before we begin.
