Trust Registration in Ranchi
Set up a public charitable trust with a clear trust deed. We draft the deed, complete the registration and help you with PAN, bank account, 12A and 80G.
A simple, flexible structure for charitable work
A trust is created when a person, called the settlor or author, places property or funds in the hands of trustees to be used for a stated charitable purpose. Its rules are written in a trust deed.
A public charitable trust can run schools, health camps, relief work and other activities. We draft the deed in line with your objects, get it executed on stamp paper and registered, and then help you apply for PAN, a bank account, 12A and 80G so you can accept donations with tax benefits.
What you need to set up a trust
- A settlor who creates the trust and contributes the initial amount or property
- At least two trustees, who are adults of sound mind and competent to contract
- Clear charitable objects, such as education, health, relief of poverty or environment
- A trust deed on stamp paper of the value required in your state, signed by the settlor and trustees
- A registered office address with proof
- Registration of the deed with the Sub-Registrar, where required by law or advisable for credibility

Common questions
Is trust registration compulsory?
A trust deed concerning immovable property must be registered under the Registration Act. In practice, banks, tax authorities and donors expect a registered trust, so registration is advisable for every public trust.
How many trustees do I need?
At least two trustees are needed, and many founders appoint three or more. We recommend a number that suits your decisions and credibility.
Trust or society?
A trust is managed by trustees and is simpler and cheaper. A society has members, a governing body and elections. We help you choose.
Can a trust receive donations with tax benefits?
Yes, once it has 12A registration for its own tax exemption and 80G approval so that donors can claim deductions.
Can trustees be paid?
Trustees generally should not benefit personally from the trust’s income. Reasonable payment for services needs care and must be allowed by the deed and law. We advise you.
This page is general guidance as we understand current law and procedures. Rules, forms, fees and due dates change, and many details vary by state, so we confirm the latest requirements for your organisation before we begin. India’s new Income-tax Act, 2025 applies from 1 April 2026, so form and section numbers may change.
